Brian Lopes on Edge for 2010

"For 2010 Brian will be sporting Edge Composites carbon AM series wheels with Chris King hubs, their carbon post and stem, as well as the new carbon Edge Sweep handlebar.
Asked about his move to the Ogden, Utah brand, Lopes said "I'm stoked to be working alongside and running Edge Composites products. I'm blown away on how good their products are and couldn't be happier to join forces with Edge Composites as a rider and a product development partner. I'm always looking to better myself and my rides, and Edge has definitely raised the bar with their wheels, bars, stems, and seat posts. My bikes were already amazing but have just gotten that much lighter, stiffer, and more responsive - all categories that can only make my job of going fast that much easier.”

Saracen Ariel

"Changes from the prototype we saw a few months back include the new 1.5”-1,1/8” tapered head tube and new CNC’d linkage which helps shed a bit of weight whilst helping stiffen things up at the same time.
Pictured is the range-topping Ariel 3 @ £2599srp with XT drivetrain, Race Face Evolve chainset, Deore M595 disc brakes, Syncros DS28 rims, Maxxis Larsen TT/High Roller tyres, Race Face Respond finishing kit and topped off with a Fi’z:k Gobi XM saddle.

Below the Ariel 3 will sit the (yes, you guessed it J) Ariel 2 @ £2099srp and the Ariel 1 at a wallet friendly £1599srp.

All bikes are suspended front and rear by Fox. With QR15 forks on the Ariel 2 and 3. The full range of Saracen bikes are landing at the beginning of April."

Opus Nelson 1

"Opus has clearly put the Nelson 1 together with the demands of high end freeriders in mind. Up front you'll find a 1.5" head tube that not only increases strength and stiffness but will also let you run any fork of your choice down the road, be that the 1.5" Totem that it comes equipped with or a standard 1.125" steerer, or even the latest crop of tapered steerer tubed forks. Opus's choice to use the larger headtube size also allows the rider to fine tune the bar height or even headtube angle by installing headsets with different stack heights.
Hydro-formed top and down tubes curve to provide great standover room as well as clearance for any fork knobs that may have come in contact with the underside of the frame otherwise. If you do barspins on your FR bike, or are planning to, there is nothing holding you back on the big Opus. Cable routing takes a clean route beneath the downtube, although riders who hang there bikes over the tailgate during shuttle runs my take issue with this choice. The rear end is tied together with a 12x135 mm Maxle system for both stiffness and quick removal.
Suspension on the Nelson is a Virtual Pivot Point affair with two short links joining the front and rear triangles. This system can be found throughout Opus's complete line of mountain bikes and is put to good use on the Nelson, the longest travel bike in their lineup. The Fox DHX 4.0 is not mounted to the front triangle, but instead floats between the upper and lower links. All pivots rotate on sealed bearings for durability."

Saracen Myst DH

“This one is the show sample (black one), with a premium build, but we are still looking at a raceable bike for around the £2k mark. We’ve got a medium (black frame) and large (white frame) that we will do shock testing on in March. The bike is the first sample and uses a conventional front section – We’re working on a front section with new tubes and these will be ready closer to the launch in July. At the moment the thinking is a mechanically formed tube–set as it allows us to better control the tube wall thicknesses than with a hydroformed tube. The weight of the bike in the picture was just over 38lbs. We’re serious about the future a wouldn’t rule out a Race Team for 2011.”

Intense Tracer 29 Rev 3

"Been getting lots of request as to whats up with the Tracer 29 so here is the latest.
This one is getting close and I am really happy with the ride. The frame has been beefed up as well as the rear and now has our new G2 adjustable drop out that offers two CS length adjustments 17.7" & 18" and different axle options for all the popular combos.
pictured is new 142 with 12mm QR. Our friends @ I9 supplied the 142 spec wheelset.
Also we are going with the full 1.5 HT so it will be compatible with all steerer options and new crop of adjustable headset cups.Direct mount FD & new larger zirk fittings that thread in so they are easy to replace.
Travel is at 5.5 or 6" with the adjustable link.
With 140 fork HA is @ 69.5 in short G2 setting and flush HS.
All this is not final & some of the parts still need refinement."

Moro Mmbop DH Frame

"The main targets in the design process were a low centre of gravity, lightweight and an agile and versatile handling performance. The shock is mounted parallel to the downtube, causes a very low centre of gravity. Also the shock is very well protected from rocks and mud. The kinematic of the linkage system has a progressive rate, so you will have enough reserves at the end of the travel at any time. The response of the shock is very sensitive. The short rear frame with a chain stay length of 430mm leads to a handling of the bike that makes you very fast around corners and invites you to use the track as a playground. But the frame has still enough smoothness at high speed because of the low bottom bracket and the low centre of gravity.

All bearings are sealed ball bearings and made of stainless steel. There are no threads in the main and rear frame except for the necessary threads in the bottom bracket and the ISCG-mountings. All parts can so easily be changed when damaged and it is not necessary to change one of the expensive parts of the frame.

Expected to be available in april of 2010"

Identiti Full-suspension Frame Prototype

"The new frame has been designed as an all-mountain frame – keen to ride through all the rough stuff yet nimble enough to climb technical ascents that all trail centres are challenging the riders with now.
It has 140mm of rear wheel travel (5.5in in old money), which we feel is almost optimum for UK trail riding, with a 67-degree head angle and 72.5-degree seat angle – great for all-day riding."
So, why are the company bringing out a full-suspension model? "Identiti are well known for being a hardcore hardtail frame manufacturer since day one," said Campbell-Jenner. "We feel that now is the right time to provide a comfortable suspension frame that you can ride to the trails, at the trails and home from the trails."

2010 Manitou Dorado Pro

"The fork is handmade at Manitou's factory in Winconsin, is based on the World Cup standard MRD Dorado Carbon with the same internals including TPC+ damping but uses 7050 alloy 36mm stanchions rather than carbon making it slightly more affordable".
"2010 updates include an improved two-chamber large volume low-pressure air spring to make setting up an easier process. Air spring pressure, which is self-regulating, can now be adjusted more easily as the valve gets relocated from the bottom of the fork leg to the top.
Weight is 6.55lbs (2.97kg) and as well as standard 26in guise is also available in a 29in version."
